En el marco del año dual México-Alemania, el Proyecto Transformación Social-Ecológica apoyó como coorganizador el congreso hogaño de la Asociación Mexicana para las Relaciones Internacionales (AMEI), el cual se realizó en Tijuana del 13 al 15 de octubre de 2016. La AMEI se compone actualmente de más de mil expertos en relaciones internacionales de diversas instituciones públicas y privadas y se dedica a la representación de México en el Comité de Estudios Internacionales Mundial de la investigación tales como la ciencia política, la sociología, derecho y economía.
La agenda del programa estuvo compuesta de actividades y conferencias en torno al tema de la conferencia "La cooperación transfronteriza y desafíos del desarrollo mundial". Durante los tres días, tanto expertos como estudiantes plantearon sobre los actuales desafíos de las políticas al nivel nacional, regional y global.
El Proyecto Regional Transformación Social-Ecológica invitó a dos oradores principales que dieron las conferencias magistrales:
El Profesor Klaus Bodemer de Alemania, investigador del Instituto Alemán de Estudios Globales y Regionales (GIGA por sus siglas en Ingles) nos presentó un análisis sobre los desafíos y oportunidades de la posición política y económica de América Latina en el sistema internacional en el contexto del debate sobre desarrollo sostenible.
El Doctor Arturo Borja Tamayo, Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología presentó sobre las oportunidades y barreras de la cooperación internacional para estimular el desarrollo en México a través de la transferencia de tecnologías. En particular, se enfocó en torno a la pregunta sobre qué manera se puede aprovechar la transferencia, conocimiento y tecnología como palanca del desarrollo sustentable de México.
Además de las conferencias, estuvimos presentes con un stand durante todo el evento y conseguimos hablar con una gran variedad de estudiantes, académicos y representantes de las organizaciones participantes. Gracias al congreso, tuvimos una gran interacción e intercambio valioso con los participantes por lo cual esperamos regresar a AMEI el próximo año.
